We’re thrilled to announce that GeoPura has been awarded a 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category – one of the UK’s highest honors for business success.
This nationally prestigious award recognises our pioneering work in delivering clean, scalable hydrogen energy and the development of our Hydrogen Power Unit (HPU) – a breakthrough in zero-emission energy technology.
Founded in 2019, GeoPura is now growing across the UK and Europe as we lead the transition to clean, reliable power. Our HPUs use green hydrogen, produced using renewable electricity, to generate zero-emission power at scale, from 50kW up to 50MW, wherever and whenever it’s needed. The only by-products? Water and heat. That means no CO₂, no NOx, no particulate matter, and no compromise on performance.

More than just a diesel generator replacement, the HPU provides limitless access to renewable electricity, helping customers unlock grid constraints, cut harmful emissions, and deliver power in the most demanding and remote environments.
From powering BBC live broadcasts and leading streaming productions, to off-grid EV charging for the Ministry of Defence, to replacing fossil fuels on major construction projects like Viking Link, HS2, and Balfour Beatty sites – our technology is already delivering real-world results. We’ve also helped reduce noise and air pollution at events such as Latitude Festival and the Isle of Wight Festival, making them cleaner and more community-friendly.
Our mission has always been clear: to provide clean, scalable energy that helps the world move away from polluting fuels like diesel, petrol, and HVO. And we’re proud that our work is also contributing to better public health outcomes. Air pollution is one of the biggest environmental risks to health in the UK – and our HPUs are actively helping to reduce exposure on construction sites, at live events, and in city environments.
Andrew Cunningham, CEO and Founder of GeoPura, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise. It’s a powerful recognition of the hard work, innovation, and commitment of the entire GeoPura team.
“At a time when the need for clean, reliable energy has never been greater, this award supports the urgent shift to green hydrogen and zero-emission fuels, helping phase out polluting fuels like diesel, petrol, and HVO that damage health and harm the environment.
“Our HPUs are already proving that it’s possible to deliver limitless access to renewable electricity, wherever and whenever it’s needed, cutting carbon, improving air quality, and helping organisations accelerate their journey to net zero.
“As a company born and growing in the East Midlands, a region with a proud industrial heritage, it’s an honour to be recognised on a national stage and to be creating skilled jobs and opportunities right here in our local communities.”
Andrew was previously awarded the Prince of Wales Award for Innovation by His Majesty King Charles III (then HRH Prince Charles) in 1991. This latest recognition under The King’s Awards for Enterprise marks a new chapter in his commitment to clean technology and sustainable development in the UK.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious business awards, now in their 59th year. Recipients are selected through a rigorous judging process led by UK government and approved by His Majesty The King. GeoPura is one of just 197 organisations to receive a King’s Award in 2025 – and we’re incredibly proud to be among them.
Stay tuned for more news and celebrations in the coming days – and thank you to all our customers, partners, and colleagues who have helped us reach this milestone.
