GeoPura’s initial focus has been off-grid, temporary and back-up power, essentially diesel generator displacement, using low-carbon hydrogen via GeoPura’s proprietary Hydrogen Power Unit (HPU). The HPUs are manufactured to a GeoPura design by our partner Siemens Energy at their Newcastle facility, and employs an industrial fuel cell, UPS and batteries to deliver critical, zero-emission “energy as a service” to our customers across a wide range of use-cases from construction to film and TV production, to outdoor events. Existing clients include Netflix, BBC, HS2, Balfour Beatty and National Grid

Following significant Series A investment, bringing in world class partners General Motors, Siemens Energy, Barclays Capital and SWEN Capital partners (Giants of industry, manufacturing and finance back UK green hydrogen pioneer GeoPura with £36m investment – GeoPura) GeoPura are expanding and looking to hire a Mechanical fitter to report into the Manufacturing facility in Newcastle.

Requirements of the role:

  • Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, P&ID drawings and manuals
  • To remove, dismantle, overhaul/repair and install electric, pneumatic, electronic or hydraulic instrumentation such as control valves and actuators, measuring and recording equipment in the field or in the workshop.
  • To assist other sections such as electrical, mechanical and workshop in the repair and troubleshooting of their instrument and electronic related systems and test equipment.
  • Removing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing components. Instruments include pressure, flow, temperature, level transmitters, analysers, sensors, detectors
  • To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures.
  • Small-bore stainless-steel pipework experience
  • Gas train experience – Leak checking, fault finding, working with high pressure gas systems

The successful candidate for the Mechanical Fitter role will have the following background:

  • Able to read P&ID drawings.
  • Experience working within engineering environment
  • Must have had experience with maintenance, fault finding and carrying out repairs within the field of pressurized systems including 300bar+
  • Knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing defective instruments.
  • Ideally, have worked in a Chemical, Manufacturing or Oil & Gas industry but all backgrounds welcome.
