Mechanical Fitter

Location: Doncaster

GeoPura designs and implements the commercial use of zero emission fuels, through the provision of innovative technology and commercial solutions, to decarbonise our global economy. GeoPura has particular interest in developing fuel cell, green hydrogen production and hydrogen carrier technologies and methods. GeoPura are working in partnership with Siemens Energy to provide this delivery of renewable, zero emission energy at a large and significant scale. With experience in providing zero-emissions power to a wide range of industries – from construction to film and TV production, to outdoor events – GeoPura harnesses hydrogen technology to generate and distribute the vast amount of energy required to decarbonise our global economies. Current clients of GeoPura include Netflix, BBC, HS2 and Balfour Beatty.

Following significant Series A investment, GeoPura are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team. Duties include:

  • Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, P&ID drawings and manuals
  • To remove, dismantle, overhaul/repair and install electric, pneumatic, electronic or hydraulic instrumentation such as control valves and actuators, measuring and recording equipment in the field or in the workshop.
  • To assist other sections such as electrical, mechanical and workshop in the repair and troubleshooting of their instrument and electronic related systems and test equipment.
  • Installing and terminating instrument electrical connections.
  • Removing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing components. Instruments include pressure, flow, temperature, level transmitters, analysers, sensors, detectors
  • To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures.
  • Small-bore stainless-steel pipework experience
  • Gas train experience – Leak checking, fault finding, working with high pressure gas systems

The successful candidate for the Mechanical Fitter will have the following background:

  • Able to read P&ID drawings.
  • Experience working within engineering environment
  • Must have had experience with maintenance, fault finding and carrying out repairs within the field of pressurized systems.
  • Knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing defective instruments.
  • Ideally, have worked in a Chemical, Manufacturing or Oil & Gas industry. Applicants from food and dairy industry also encouraged.
