Assistant Accountant

GeoPura designs and implements the commercial use of zero emission fuels, through the provision of innovative technology and commercial solutions, to decarbonise our global economy. GeoPura has particular interest in developing fuel cell, green hydrogen production and hydrogen carrier technologies and methods. GeoPura are working in partnership with Siemens Energy to provide this delivery of renewable, zero emission energy at a large and significant scale. With experience in providing zero-emissions power to a wide range of industries – from construction to film and TV production, to outdoor events – GeoPura harnesses hydrogen technology to generate and distribute the vast amount of energy required to decarbonise our global economies. Current clients of GeoPura include Netflix, BBC, HS2 and Balfour Beatty.

Due to rapid growth and expansion, GeoPura are seeking an Assistant Accountant. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity for the right person to utilise their experience and really establish the role as their own. You will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in day-to-day tasks; ensuring all aspects of Accounts are conducted in-line with best practice and company policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Preparation of monthly P&L
  • Assisting with any commentary on variances
  • Capex and maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Running key weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Assisting with any year end audit queries
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns Preparing and posting month end journals for accrued/prepaid income, COS and Ohs
  • Calculating monthly revenue based on customer contracts for invoicing and supporting on customer invoice queries
  • Review costs to support R&D tax relief claim
  • Collate data and information from across business units to inform the FY24 budgeting process
